Kale

A casualty of transplanting: this kale isn't looking too good. Luckily (and mainly because of space limitations,) we only transplanted 4 of our 5 kale seedlings. We'll try again, hopefully with more luck.
Kale should be spaced about 18 to 24 inches apart - hard to believe when they're still so small.
We got greedy and packed three seedlings in the 36 centimeter-long container.

  1. We planted many of our plants outside in the garden yesterday, when it was sunny and 70..today, cold rain all day long! so far so good, but we shall see. As we have a brand new tiller and were able to till several weeks ago, there is plenty of churned up dirt below the seedlings, so it can absorb much of this rain..will see how it goes~

  2. Great! I noticed on Kacie's blog today that they're waiting till May to plant. Yikes! We did just get a huge snow storm but the forecast calls for 60s and 70s this week...
